Vienna City Marathon

Making strides together in our host city

Each spring, thousands of runners take to the streets of Vienna in one of Europe’s most vibrant road races. For the OPEC Fund, the Vienna City Marathon is more than a sporting weekend. It is a long-running partnership in our host city that reflects our belief that investing in people also means supporting the spaces where health, opportunity and community can thrive.

A long-standing commitment to Vienna

The OPEC Fund has supported the Vienna City Marathon for more than a decade, making it a familiar fixture in the institution’s host city engagement. In 2025, the OPEC Fund noted its 15th year of support.

Health and wellbeing start with people

Development is ultimately about people, and people do best when they are healthy, connected and able to participate fully in society. The Vienna City Marathon embodies that principle in a visible way.

For the OPEC Fund, supporting the race also reinforces a culture that values wellbeing and active living in our host city community, including among staff who participate as runners, volunteers and supporters year after year.  

The next Vienna City Marathon will take place on Sunday, 19 April 2026. We look forward to seeing you there.
