The OPEC Fund engages in a variety of activities beyond the scope of its core operations. Some promote human-capacity building; others acknowledge the contributions of outstanding individuals to development. The OPEC Fund also participates in many local projects in its host community in Vienna, Austria.

Green-Blue Connect

Green-Blue Connect is the OPEC Fund’s US$3 billion platform linking water resilience and energy decarbonization to finance climate adaptation and mitigation through 2030.

The Annual Award for Development

The Annual Award for Development honors outstanding contributions to sustainable development. First introduced in 2006, the award highlights initiatives delivering measurable impact and innovative solutions to global development challenges.

The OPEC Fund Scholarship

The OPEC Fund Scholarship Award supports outstanding young individuals from developing countries so that they can pursue graduate studies in a development-related field.

Young Leaders Initiative

The OPEC Fund Young Leaders Initiative strengthens the capacity of young civil servants from OPEC Fund member countries through high-level exposure, practical learning and peer exchange.
