Health
Much progress has been made on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, related to good health and wellbeing. Nevertheless, as the Sustainable Development Goals Report 2023 (by the United Nations) states, people are still suffering needlessly from preventable diseases, and too many are dying prematurely. Overcoming disease and ill health, according to the report, will require concerted and sustained efforts, focusing on population groups and regions that have been neglected.
The OPEC Fund focuses on global, regional and national health initiatives aimed at preventing and treating high-burden diseases, such as HIV / AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, neglected tropical diseases, and non-communicable diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
