The project overall objective was to strengthen the breeding and variety testing capacity of national partners through linkage to the International Maize Improvement Consortium for Latin America, to identify, validate, and disseminate maize varieties combining high yield potential and resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses that limit small-holder productivity in the most maize-dependent countries of Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
