Agriculture
According to the World Food Programme, 821 million people – one in nine – still go to bed on an empty stomach each night. Even more – one in three – suffer from some form of malnutrition.
The UN SDGs – the global blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all – pledge to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030 under SDG 2.
The OPEC Fund works to support SDG 2 through promoting sustainable food production and more resilient agriculture across the world, committing US$59 million to the sector in 2023.
