Water & Sanitation
The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2023 by the United Nations states that too many people still lack access to safely managed water supplies and sanitation facilities. Water scarcity, flooding, and lack of proper wastewater management also continue to hinder social and economic development. It is vital that regions and nations work to increase water efficiency and improve water management, to balance the competing and growing water demands from various sectors and users.
In 2023, the OPEC Fund committed more than US$60 million to the water & sanitation sector.
Commitments are operations and agreements that have been signed by the relevant parties.
