This project will help facilitate the movement of agricultural and industrial goods, reduce transport costs and boost living conditions in low-income communities in the capital Castries and the northwest. Around 19,000 households are expected to benefit from the project. The project is expected to create new employment opportunities both during and after its implementation. It will also open up rural areas' access jobs in the tourism industry, and in turn help reduce the high unemployment rates. As long distances and high transport costs have led to many secondary students to drop out of school, the project is also expected to boost attendance rates.
