The purpose of this project was to reduce mother to child transmission of HIV and alleviate the impact of AIDS on children, through improved access to comprehensive prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) and care services in the beneficiary countries. The grant's proceeds contributed to improve the coverage and quality of PMTCT / Paediatric HIV treatment and care in the targeted countries and to develop capacities of sub-national management and service delivery structures. The project received one year no-cost extension. The project implementation is completed. The overall assessment of the project is satisfactory and the project achieved its expected outputs.
