This emergency aid grant in the amount of US$500,000 supports Libya in the aftermath of Storm Daniel, which stuck the country on September 10. The storm led to overwhelming flooding and destruction with more than 5,000 dead, a further 10,000 missing, 30,000 people internally displaced and 7,000 families stranded. The grant will be channeled through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), to support the operations of the Libyan Red Crescent and will focus on the following areas: integrated assistance, health and care, including Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), protection and prevention.
