This project represents the third phase of a government program that seeks to achieve a cost-effective means of petroleum supply storage and distribution. Works already completed under the program have made Samoa’s petroleum supply costs and wholesale prices among the lowest in the region. Phase III aims to consolidate and maintain this position.
Project components include the acquisition and rehabilitation of a petroleum bulk storage terminal, together with the renovation of secondary storage facilities and the replacement of petroleum discharge lines in Apia harbor. By strengthening storage capacity, the project will allow Samoa to increase its reserves, import and distribute petroleum products more efficiently, and avoid disruption of supplies.
