To expand this maternal/child care hospital located in the capital Brazzaville through the construction and equipping of a new 100-bed facility, thus doubling in-patient capacity. Works will include the following:

  • construction of a five-story hospital building, thus adding almost 11,000 m2 to the existing facility;
  • provision of equipment and medical supplies;
  • consultancy services; and
  • provision of training to hospital medical, technical and administrative staff.
The expansion of the Blanche Gomes Hospital will help reduce the burden on other hospitals and health care facilities in Brazzaville. In addition, it will generate business and employment opportunities during the implementation period and upon its completion, as health, technical and other personnel will be recruited to meet new staffing needs and ensure that it becomes fully operational. This will, in turn, support the economy of the project area.
