The project aims at improving the productive capacity of smallholders in the Zacapa and Chiquimula departments by increasing their productivity and production of traditional food crops and promoting the introduction of cash crops. The project comprises the following components:
- provision of credit;
- production support services;
- construction of all-weather roads as well as upgrading of existing gravel roads in rural areas;
- project management;
- monitoring and evaluation.
