With the aim to relieve water shortages in Maradi Tahoua, two arid regions in the south of the country, the project will finance the drilling of tube wells in 140 villages. The new wells enabled each person to be able to draw 20 liters per day, and proved adequate water for raising livestock and irrigating crops.
