This project was conceived to repair some of the damage caused to Samoa’s power sector by two severe tropical cyclones. It provided for the procurement and installation of a new diesel generator, as well as for renovation works at several seriously damaged hydro and diesel power generation plants. The project sought to restore the country’s generating capacity to pre-cyclone levels and bring an end to two-years of power shortages.
