The University of The Gambia has no single unified campus but is rather comprised of rented buildings at sites sprinkled around the Greater Banjul area. Government aims at establishing a centralized campus for the university and to update curricula in order to better meet present market needs. This project will thus expand and upgrade the university to accommodate approximately 3,000 additional students. This will include, among other works:
- construction of new buildings house a wide range of faculties such as health, science, technology, law and engineering;
- provision of all infrastructure with equipment and furniture;
- updating of curricula;
- provision of training to teaching staff; and
- implementation of capacity building measures for the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.
