The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is located in the capital Accra and serves over half of the population. Comprised of an inefficient layout of buildings spread out over a wide area, much of the infrastructure has reached the end of its life-cycle. The hospital is experiencing chronic congestion on most wards, including its four accident centers.
The project will thus construct and equip a new, integrated trauma, surgical and medical emergency center that will replace the old facilities. One completion, the center will serve over 18 million people in southern Ghana and provide higher quality and more efficient emergency care.
