The project will upgrade the 10.7 km-long Tombo- Gbessia highway that serves the capital Conakry with its busy seaport and Gbessa International Airport. Over and underpasses will be built, and drainage systems installed to prevent flooding. To reduce the number of accidents, safety features such as traffic signs and guardrails will be installed.
In addition to reducing vehicle-operating costs and travel time, the upgraded road will encourage economic activity by improving the flow of traffic through the country’s capital.
