The project comprises the following components: (a) installation of a 9.2 MW low-speed diesel engineering unit at the King Tom power plant and construction of priority 33 kV distribution facilities in Freetown; (b) expansion of the generating capacity in ten provincial centres; (c) supply of data processing equipment; (d) technical assistance; and (e) consultant services to complete the feasibility study of the Bumbuna hydroelectric scheme and design studies to tender the construction of the hydro plant's first stage.
