This project financed the establishment of infrastructure to support development of the islands’ fishing industry. Concentrating on the southern atolls of Gaafu Arifu and Gaafu Dhaalu, activities included construction of a deep water harbor, a fish freezing/cold storage complex, a water desalination plant and power generating units, along with the rehabilitation of four fishing vessels and purchase of three new ones.
