The project, made up of 2 sub-projects, aims at reinforcing technical education as well as vocational training by increasing the efficiency, quality and output of technical and 4 vocational training centers, raising the skill level and productivity of the working force and strengthening the Government's ability to manage and evaluate the further development of these 2 sub-projects and skill training. Under the first sub-project site works, construction and extension of facilities at the Bangladesh Institute of Technology (B.I.T.), Dhaka, are envisaged. The sub-project Vocational Training Institute (V.T.I.) foresees the construction of new buildings and renovation of 4 old VTI's buildings. Additionally, machines and training equipment will be provided for under this sub-project.
