The project consists of the construction of a main dam and related works on the River Issen. The concrete dam (97 m high and with a storage capacity of 218 million cm per year) is to be used for developing agricultural production in the Wadi Souss Area. The larger project consists of the following components: (a) construction of a secondary dam (for storing 350,000 cm), of a 1.4 tunnel and a 16 km main canal, of subsidiary canals and pipelines, of a road network and transmission lines as well as villages and extension service centres; (b) studies; (c) supervision; and (d) technical assistance.
