The IIF will invest in infrastructure in targeted Asian countries (such as Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), where deficiencies exist in various sectors that include energy, roads, water supply and sanitation, as well as telecommunications and ports sub-sectors. These investments will help promote the involvement of independent operators and public-private partnerships in the economic growth of the region. The investments will also help encourage productivity and generate employment, leading to greater prosperity for the targeted countries and populations.
