PRCS was founded in December 1968 as an independent national society and a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Its mission is the provision of humanitarian, health and social services to the Palestinians in a number of cities in the West Bank, Gaza and refugee camps in neighbouring countries. The grant supported the continuity of the society's functions and was channeld through the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization.
