This two-year program aimed at providing comprehensive pre- and post-natal care to women and their babies in order to reduce the number of stillbirths and complications arising during pregnancy/childbirth. The program covered nine provinces in the departments of Cajamarca, Cuzco and Apurimac and areas with the lowest health coverage. The OPEC Fund’s assistance was to contribute to the prevention of maternal and perinatal deaths in rural communities of the departments of Cajamarca, Cuzco and Apurimac.
