Special Public Works

Nepal, Tanzania

The program aimed at assisting governments of developing countries, through technical cooperation, to plan and organize labor-intensive public works programs. The grant was utilized to finance the costs of imported goods (material, equipment and tools) required for the implementation of public work schemes in three countries. The Ilam/Phidim Road and Panchayat Irrigation in Nepal; the Rukwa Water Supply and Rukwa Roads in Tanzania; and the Burundi Pilot Special Public Works Program (SPWP).
