Expanding on the successes carried out under Phase I, Phase II aims at improving living conditions of five low-income communities,populated by around 53,300 people, located in the south side of Belize city. Works will include the following:
- improvement and rehabilitation of urban infrastructure, such as drainage works and roads;
- elevation of public areas to protect against flooding;
- repair or replacement of housing units;
- establishment of a labor market integration program for young entrepreneurs; and
- provision of adult literacy programs and skills/vocational training.
