The present project is an extension of Phase III, under which the SFD carried out sub-projects in 20 governorates throughout Yemen. In order to expand coverage, the present loan will co-finance 17,000 additional subprojects submitted to SFD. The focus will remain on sub-projects in the areas of education, water supply, the environment, health, social protection and rural/feeder roads. Finally, institutional strengthening and capacity-building measures will be implemented across all sectors, while infrastructure will be constructed/rehabilitated.
