In order to develop a vocational training system that is more responsive present needs, the project will restructure Sri-Lanka’s Technical Education and Vocational Skills Training sub-sector.
Activities will include administrative capacity building and provision of special programs to assist disadvantaged students. A 4,000m², four-story building will be constructed to house centers for learning resources, career counseling and information and publications, as well as the Ministry of Vocational Training and Rural Industries. Additionally, facilities at a further 250 vocational training centers will be upgraded.
