The project is an integral part of the Sedawgyi Multi-Purpose Development Scheme which envisages irrigation for agriculture, water supply and power development, utilizing the waters of the Chaungmagyi River by means of a storage dam and related facilities. The project involves the construction of a hydropower station of 25 MW and a 65 km long 132 kV single circuit transmission line; distribution equipment, and consultancy services.
