Bangladesh’s susceptibility to flooding has serious consequences in urban areas. The project, therefore, aims to provide a flood-free, secure living environment in nine towns. Activities will include, among others:
- construction of flood embankments
- reinforcement of dikes
- excavation of new canals and enlargement of existing water courses
- installation of drainage works
- capacity-building to strengthen the ability of local authorities to manage and maintain the new infrastructure
