The Second Power Project is part of the overall Power Program of the Jamaica Public Service Company for the period 1978-82. The project consists of: a) Construction of 83 miles of 138 KV transmission lines and 22 miles of 69 KV transmission lines; b) Installation of about 50 MVA of 138 and 69 KV sub-stations and about 180 MVA of 69-24 KV sub-stations; c) Installation of about 45 MVA of distribution transformers, 300 circuit miles of primary distribution lines, consulting services for improvement of operating and maintenance practices, tariff studies and design and preparation of contract documents and maintenance of existing distribution system.
