Côte d'Ivoire's Government is striving to provide universal free education for children between the ages of three and 15. Over the years, economic difficulties have undermined these efforts. The project will therefore carry out the following works:
- construction of 201 classrooms distributed among 67 primary schools, 46 of which will be located in rural areas;
- provision of furniture, didactic materials and equipment;
- construction of a 12-classroom secondary college in the department of Bodokro;
- construction of a 12-classroom secondary college that will serve as an all-girl's boarding school in Gagnoa;
- creation of a pilot program that will use some of the schools for teaching native languages; and
- distribution of over 2,600 pedagogical kits to schools completed under a previous project.
