The grant was extended in support of the ITC-sponsored research project on Screening of village-based livestock for milk and growth rates: An innovative farmer participatory approach for optimized breed improvement. The research aimed to support the implementation of village-based screening to optimize livestock breeds improvement with a growing farmers and other stakeholders participation to boost income and enhance food security in selected villages in The Gambia and Guinea. ITC presented a satisfactory mid-term progress report for the period November 2002 – May 2003 as well as a financial report.
