Phase I of this project constructed a 100-bed referral hospital in Sangmelima town. Phase II will carry out the following:
- purchase of medical equipment and furniture;
- provision of an initial stock of essential drugs for the hospital’s first year of operation;
- provision of training for medical, para-medical and technical staff that will cover areas such as health resources management, healthcare delivery;
- dissemination of health-related information to local communities; and
- construction of housing for physicians.
