To provide basic infrastructure in five impoverished, remote rural regions across the country. This will include building roads, health centers, schools and small water supply and sanitation systems, among others. Both during and after the construction phase the project is expected to create jobs for the under- and unemployed, particularly the youth. Also during the construction phase women participating in income-generation activities such as selling food and other wares to workers will be able to boost their household incomes and improve living conditions.
