The project comprises the electrification of 1,150 villages and includes the installation of 670 km of 33 kV and 210 km of 11 kV transmission lines, 5,140 km of low voltage (415 volt) lines, 910 sub-stations, and 57,500 consumer connections. Other project components include construction equipment and vehicles, and consultancy services. This project is part of a larger program to upgrade existing networks and bring electrification to new areas. It will provide electricity to about 1.5 million people, and serve agro-based industries, handicrafts, irrigation pumping and commercial activities.
