Years of civil conflict and inadequate investment in the education sector have taken their toll on the education system of DR Congo. Government is seeking to achieve universal primary education and plans to rehabilitate schools that have fallen into disrepair. The project will therefore carry out the following:

  • rehabilitation of 16 primary schools located in the Kinshasa, Bandundu, Equateur, Maniema and Orientale Provinces, where poverty levels are high;
  • provision of equipment, furniture and basic educational materials.
It is anticipated that an estimated total of 12,100 children will be enrolled each year at the schools.
