This was the fifth of seven grants allocated to the regional potato research program for the Indian sub-continent and aimed at improving potato varieties. The beneficiary countries were Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The grants contributed to the 1982-1989 budgets. Research and trials in the region have achieved excellent results and provided improved varieties of seeds.
