Founded in 1951 as a non-profit NGO, with the support of the World YWCA to provide services for the Palestinian refugees before UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) services were established. The mission of the YWCA is to empower and improve the status and skills of women by expanding their options, supporting their economic independence, and liberating them from all kinds of oppression and social constraints that limit their development.
