With IFRC, the Fund worked in Asia and the Pacific. The project for the region brings closer the Fund's target of reaching most corners of the world with its HIV/AIDS Special Account, established last year. The project sought to reduce household vulnerability to HIV/AIDS in several countries, and strengthen ongoing efforts at both country and regional levels. The OFID/IFRC project channeled resources toward containing and checking the advance of the epidemic; and the focused on local factors which were the major determinants of vulnerability to HIV/AIDS.
