The OPEC Fund, through the "OPEC Fund - UNFPA Project for HIV/AIDS Prevention" (the Project), and in collaboration with UNFPA, has decided to contribute to the prevention and control of the spread of HIV/AIDS in Central America and the Caribbean. Activities will be implemented across several programmatic areas including the support of youth-friendly health services, the provision of health training and sensitization programs, the systemization, analysis and dissemination of data and information on HIV/AIDS and youth, the support for national strategy formulation for HIV/AIDS prevention in youth, and such other areas as may be agreed upon by both parties. The overall goal of the Project was to contribute to the decrease of HIV/AIDS incidence among youth in especially difficult circumstances in selected countries of Central America and the Caribbean.
