The project will rehabilitate and expand potable water and sanitation infrastructure in both rural and urban regions. Works will include:

  • the drilling and cleaning of wells;
  • supply and installation of pumping equipment and treatment facilities;
  • expansion of distribution network;
  • installation of metered house connections;
  • establishment of a surveillance system to monitor the incidence rates of waterborne diseases; and
  • institutional strengthening and capacity building across Haiti's potable water and sanitation sector.
The health and quality of life of at least 450,000 people in urban areas and 95,000 in rural regions will improve substantially from the project.
