The project was part of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and was implemented in 2005 by the Government of Niger in cooperation with UNICEF. The grant’s proceeds contributed to the conduct of one round of the national immunization days in 2005. In particular, it was used for the provision of 4.3 million doses of oral polio vaccine and other items necessary to vaccinate the 3.6 million targeted children under the age of five.
