The project will carry out the following works: rehabilitation of approximately 2,100 km of rural roads in the departments of Alto Paraná and Itaipú; replacement of bridges and the implementation of maintenance plans for up to 4,800 km of previously-rehabilitated roads; carrying out of corrective maintenance of around 3,000 km of roads that are reaching the end of their operational lifetime; surfacing approximately 500 urban stretches that link to communities in the project area with a gravel surface; and institutional strengthening of the country’s Rural Road Directorate and local governments.
