This project will focus activities in N'Bout, Kankossa and Ould Yenge. Works will include:
- institution strengthening and capacity building across all sectors;
- upgrading of basic infrastructure such as roads, schools and health and sanitation facilities;
- rehabilitation of agricultural land;
- erosion control and soil conservation measures;
- provision of literacy courses to some 14,000 people, half of them women;
- sensitization campaigns covering topics such as preventative health care, hygiene, and sanitation; and
- establishment of micro-credit institutions to assist landless individuals and women in setting up their own small businesses.
