To build dams, pumping stations and related infrastructure to deliver reliable water supplies to some 300,000 people in the capital Maseru and three outlying towns (Roma, Mazenod, and Teyateyaneng). Works will include:

  • construction of access roads to the dam site and the provision of rural roads between the villages on both sides of the river;
  • construction of dam and dam pumping station;
  • installation of necessary pumps and ancillary electrical and mechanical equipment for pumping stations in outlying towns;
  • construction of a water treatment plant capable of handling 80,000 m3/day;
  • installation of 82 km of pipelines and construction of four service reservoirs; and
  • engineering services.
