This project will construct a 200-bed, 11,380 m2 hospital in Matola that will provide outpatient, surgical and emergency services, as well as cater to specialties including obstetrics and pediatrics. The facility will also be fully equipped and furnished, and staff housing will be constructed. In addition to routine care, the Matola hospital will place an emphasis on treating communicable diseases that are prevalent in the area such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. In addition to serving local residents, the facility will act as a referral hospital for some 800,000 people from neighboring districts.
