The aim of the project is to improve the existing water supplies and will include:
- establishment of a network of transmission pipelines about 4.3 km in length;
- construction of new chlorinators, and three storage tanks with total capacity of about 20,000 m³;
- laying of 80 km of primary pipeline and 190 km of secondary pipeline;
- installation of 40,000 water meters, 785 public faucets, 440 fire hydrants; and
- construction of workshops and testing laboratories in Mandalay.
