This project saw the expansion of Malé Airport's international terminal and the construction of a terminal for domestic passengers, along with the installation of a new power supply and distribution system. An air traffic service center, equipped with satellite-based communication, navigation and surveillance systems was also constructed, and training provided. With tourism now the main engine of economic growth in the Maldives, this project helped relieve the struggle to cope with ever-increasing number of visitors.
