Under this project, a 36,000 m2 center will be constructed to diagnose, treat and research liver diseases such as schistosomiasis, hepatitis and cirrhosis, which are responsible for almost 50% of the deaths in rural areas. Surgery and radiotherapy units and an in-patient ward with a 400-bed capacity will be built, as well as a blood bank, pharmacy and an outpatient clinic.
